Looking For a Modeling Contract

I'm looking for a modeling contract for my soon to be 50 year old husband.

Contrast and Beauty

Just returning from 3 weeks on one of the most luscious, green spots on earth, I was able to recognize the beauty of the Arizona landscape. I can no longer say that Kauai is more beautiful than Lake Powell. Just different kinds of beauty.

Different kinds of beauty. It's time we buck what the media world tells us is the standard of beauty. One thing is not more beautiful than the next. It is joyful to recognize just different kinds of beauty and appreciate each beauty for what it is.

Kerry Oda Photos

On my list of "to-do's" is Kayak the NaPali Coast, Kauai, Hawaii.
It was a 17-mile 6:00 a.m to 9:30 p.m. endeavor. Actual paddle time was apprx. 9 hours. The scenery was breathtaking and when I look at these photos, I can hardly believe we were there.

It was also an accomplishment for which I am proud--accomplished with the best person in the world--Tony. And like everything else, is another life metaphor.

While paddling we hit a horrific head wind and we sought refuge in this cave. The memory is surreal. This photo will always remind me of what happened when we came out of the cave. The wind had reversed and we had a magnificent tail wind. I took my sarong and tied one length to the kayak. I stretched the entire sarong out and held the other end with my paddle. The wind filled it and Tony and I were sailing! We joyfully coasted along the coast. We could see the distant shore that we would be landing on and were sad that the trip would end so soon. We couldn't have been fifteen minutes away But...
Another head wind. Almost two hours later we beached--worn but exhilarated by the accomplishment.

Not owning a waterproof camera, I didn't take any pictures. Providence reigned when the next day I found Kerry Oda's photos of the pristine magical places we'd been.

Thank-you Stephanie Meyer

Literally, we did not see or converse with Paloma for 2 days. That is not why I am thanking this successful author. I am thanking her for writing in a way that SUCKS PJ into a book. What a thrill to experience total absorption. Unfortunately, the book didn't do the same for me--two weeks later, my bookmark is still at chapter two.

We'll Be Back

Thank-you Jillian for taking this photo--Tony and I taking a swim.

Feeling a little melancholy because I didn't wake up to the sound of the surf nor dive into the blue lagoon after a morning run/walk. There's something about salt water: softer hair, softer skin, soul-soothing.

Though our vacation home was smaller than our own, when we walked into our house, it seemed so small--because the windows and lanai extended with 180 degree view of surrounding ocean. We felt like we were living outside.

No complaints-we're adjusting and we'll be back.

Hail to the Lilikoi

We discovered the most amazing fruit on Kauai. We first tasted the lilikoi, a member of the passion fruit family, at a farmer's market. We found out they grew wild on vines in the valleys. On a bike ride, Tony found a whole road with lilikoi vines.
We only discovered the vines in the last three days of our 18 day vacation. Fortunately we were supplied by the farmer's markets until that day, because I became addicted to the scrumptious fruit.

There is no way to describe it but one of its unique features is that you pop off the top and suck out the inside. Not content to leave any wasting, I could easily open it up and suck the seeds and pulp off the side. By the time we left, Tony too thought it was scruptious--this could have been the fruit that Eve tempted Adam with. Jillian is enjoying a grapefruit that we picked off one of our grapefruit trees each morning.
