Moose Tracks!

An absolutely stunning day of cross country skiing.
A few worries when I came upon these tracks. Moose are known to attack when threatened.
This is not the moose I saw, or didn't see... just a shot I found at google images--but he is a nice complement to the day and piece. http://wendy.seltzer.org/photos/moose.jpg

Hang On, Spring is Almost Here

Because I couldn't wait, this is what accompanies me when I sit down at my desk: hope and beauty.

A Sad Story

I have an adolescent development class and each person was required to give a report on two different aspects of his growing up: one that helped and one that hindered.

A young man named Dave told the class how he had two grandmothers. Grandmother 1 told him that grandmother 2 didn't love him, and that only grandma 1 loved him. When he saw that grandma 2 cared for him, kissed and hugged him, he was confused. Grandma 2's actions conflicted with what grandmother 1 had said about her. He soon learned that he couldn't trust grandma 1. She became a weak source. He learned that he couldn't trust people who were supposed to love and care for him. This affected him with feelings of insecurity and mistrust.

When a child comes into this world, all of us are responsible to make sure that the child knows how much we love him, everyone loves him, his Heavenly Father loves him. What joy to share so much love and help to build the trust and security of a precious child.
